Return-to-Duty Process
SAP Evaluation: The driver is assessed by a DOT-qualified SAP.

Follow-Up Evaluation: The SAP evaluates the driver’s progress.
RTD Test: The driver passes a Return to Duty test.

As your Consortium/Third-Party Administrator (C/TPA), we will manage the scheduling of your Return-to-Duty test. After a successful result, we will update your Clearinghouse status to remove restrictions, allowing you to return to safety-sensitive duties.
Why CDL drivers should hire a C/TPA for RTD testing:
Available for All Drivers: Individual CDL drivers can now hire a C/TPA for RTD testing.
Manage Scheduling: We take care of arranging your Return to Duty test.
SAP Information: We request your details from the SAP.
RTD Test Booking: We schedule your RTD test at a nearby location.
Status Update for Eligibility: After passing, we update your Clearinghouse status for safety-sensitive duties.
C/TPA Services for CDL Drivers-Step 5:
Complete the form and appoint us as your C/TPA. We will gather your SAP completion information.
We will schedule your Return-to-Duty test and update your Clearinghouse status upon successful completion.
Passing the test restores your eligibility to operate a CMV. If you fail, your Clearinghouse record will reflect a violation, and you will need to repeat the SAP/RTD process.

Remember, only your SAP or TPA can schedule your Return to Duty test.
RTD SAP simplifies the process by providing TPA services, SAP support, and access to certified testing facilities, making it easier for you to move forward.
Failure to pass the Return to Duty (RTD) test will result in a new DOT Clearinghouse violation, which will require you to complete the SAP and Return to Duty process again.
